Find Boise Busted Mugshots

A Boise arrest leaves a trail in two offices. The police write the incident report. The Ada County jail writes the booking entry when the person arrives. Different records, different keepers. Mixing them up wastes time. For recent Boise busted mugshots, start with the current arrest or custody lists. Older reports and images take a records request to the right unit. Idaho courts hold the outcome of any charge, not the jail. Booking is just an arrest event. Someone released drops off the live roster, but the booking record stays available on request.

Boise Busted Mugshots

Boise anchors Ada County as its seat and biggest city. A COMPASS 2024 estimate puts 250,060 residents inside city limits. Policing falls to the Boise Police Department. Ada County Sheriff's deputies and other agencies can also make arrests in and around the city. The arresting agency and the jail record holder are not always the same office. That difference matters once someone is booked into the Ada County Jail.

An adult custodial arrest processed there can appear in the official Ada County Current Arrests report, under Boise City Police or another agency. Open a result and you may find plenty. Name, city, age, arrest date and time, status, agency, charge rows, statute, severity, type, a VINE link, and a booking photo. The Ada County Inmate Roster answers a different question. It tells you whether the person sits in county custody right now.

Where Boise Busted Mugshots Appear

Start with the official county systems. They tie the Boise arrest event to the jail record directly. The table below splits a recent-arrest view from a current-custody view. It also covers city records and selected news coverage. A photo may appear once a result is opened. No source offers a complete public photo archive.

Channel Photo? Official? How to use it
ACSO Current Arrests Selected result can show one Yes Use the rolling 4-hour, 24-hour, or 5-day window for a recent adult county booking.
ACSO Inmate Roster Selected result can show one Yes Search current Ada County Jail custody by the first letter or letters of a last name.
Boise Police news Story dependent Yes Read selected city releases and agency context. It is not a daily booking log.
BPD records request Ask for a releasable image Yes Use a written request for a report or image held by Boise Police.
Secondary indexes Varies No RecentlyBooked, Mugshots.com, Arrests.org, and Boise Busted may contain older or partial copies.
Local news Selected stories only No, unless an agency feed Idaho outlets add story and court context but do not replace the county record.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office mobile app serves as an alerts and tips channel. Its store descriptions say nothing about an inmate lookup or a booking-photo feed. Treat the app as a public-safety notification tool. It is no stand-in for the arrest report or roster.

Find a Boise Booking

For the county-wide Ada County booking and roster path, your first move depends on the question. Someone just booked belongs in the current-arrest feed. Someone possibly still housed belongs in the roster. The same name can show in one view and not the other, since the time windows and custody states differ.

  1. Open Current Arrests and begin with Last 24 Hours. Use Last 4 Hours for the newest interval or Last 5 Days when the event is older but still within the rolling window.
  2. Read the city, agency, arrest date and time, status, and charge rows together. A Boise label helps route the event, but it does not turn the entry into a complete city arrest log.
  3. Select the result if a booking image or VINE notification link is shown. Note the selected window and access date because the feed changes as time moves.
  4. Open the Inmate Roster separately for current custody. Enter the first letter or letters of the last name, then select the matching result. A blank search is not accepted.
  5. Read bail only as the roster presents it. Some charges have no release option, and a bail amount is not a sentence or a court disposition.
  6. If the name is absent, call the Ada County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 577-3000 for current status rather than treating the absence as proof that no booking occurred.
  7. For an older event, request the record from the office that holds it. Boise Police handles its incident records, while ACSO is the practical custodian for a county-jail booking image.

The feed does not capture every police contact. A citation, a juvenile matter, an arrest booked outside Ada County, or an event outside the selected window may follow another route entirely. Someone released can vanish from the current roster while the booking record stays available through a records request.

ACSO's roster excludes juveniles. It also warns that recent changes may lag behind its 24-hour database update, a warning that covers releases, transfers, and corrections alike.

Boise Police Records

Boise Police publishes no daily arrest roster, no blotter, and no public mugshot search. Want an incident report or a city-held image? That takes a written request through the BPD public-records request route. The page lays out online and written options, response windows, and cost estimates for larger jobs. No fixed booking-photo fee is posted.

Keep the request tight. Include the full name, date of birth if known, arrest or incident date, agency, case number if available, and the record type sought. A city report may hold defendant name, age, city, charge or statute, agency, and circumstances, subject to restrictions. If the booking image is the goal, send the request to ACSO too. Never assume BPD owns every image tied to a Boise arrest.

  1. Choose Boise Police when the need is the city’s incident report, city case material, or an image maintained by BPD.
  2. Choose ACSO Records when the person was processed into Ada County Jail and the request concerns the booking record, booking image, or release record.
  3. State the date range and identifying details, then ask the records unit to identify any fee before work begins.
  4. Expect redactions or a denial when an open investigation, victim or witness safety, fair-trial concern, investigative method, or another exemption applies.

Boise Busted Crime Coverage

Boise crime coverage runs on stories, not rosters. The Idaho Statesman crime section covers Boise and the Treasure Valley. But a 2020 McClatchy policy ended most routine crime mugshot publication there. KIVI has run selected crime stories with an ACSO image and agency credit. One image in one story does not mean the outlet mirrors the live jail feed.

For city context, the BPD Police news source offers official releases and selected announcements. It shows the kind of channel Boise makes available. It is not a full list of who was booked.

A few regional outlets round out the picture. KTVB, Idaho Press, and BoiseDev each publish as stories develop, and their images belong to specific articles. Boise Busted itself sits outside the official system as a local secondary source. RecentlyBooked, Mugshots.com, and Arrests.org may carry older or partial Ada County entries, though no site among them serves as an official Boise roster.

Want the wider county angle? Arrest News lines up these outlets next to the official records route. Each channel answers a different question. A news story gives context, while the county feed, a records response, or a court docket carries the authoritative answer to its own kind of query.

Boise Busted Booking Windows

The ACSO Current Arrests report runs on rolling windows, not a permanent daily archive. Last 4 Hours is the tightest view. Last 24 Hours works as the normal same-day starting point. Last 5 Days is the longest range built in. Columns can include name, city, age, arrest date and time, status, agency, severity, charge, statute, type, a photo, and a VINE link.

The roster marches to its own clock. It stamps an "as of" time and refreshes every 24 hours. It also cautions that fresh changes may lag behind. No fixed retention period exists for how long a released person's row or photo stays up. A name vanishing from the roster proves nothing about the case itself.

Release works a particular way at the Ada County Jail. Bond must be met on each charge, or a judge must order release. A $25 administration fee applies when a warrant or judge sets bond. Separate charges can carry separate fees. The bail field only appears where a charge has a release option, and it promises neither a release time nor a case outcome. Note: intake, photo processing, and online posting are separate steps, and ACSO posts no exact delay.

Booking
The jail intake process that records identity, arrest authority, reason, fingerprints, photo, medical intake, and property information.
Roster
The current-custody view, limited to the people and fields the Ada County interface publishes.
Bond
A release condition or amount set for an eligible charge. It is not a finding of guilt.
Disposition
The court result, such as dismissal, acquittal, plea result, or sentence, after the booking event.

The ACSO app and its social channels push safety notices and tips, but none of that adds up to a lasting Boise booking archive. For current status, ACSO holds the answer. Case outcomes live with the court.

After a Boise Booking

A charge row is just the start of a case. Courts can amend the filing, dismiss it, or hand down a verdict. The live roster may shift before the court record catches up. An entry dropping off tells you nothing about where the case landed. The Idaho court system verifies filings and outcomes. ACSO and BPD handle record-custodian questions.

Someone sentenced or supervised by the Idaho Department of Correction shows up in the IDOC Resident/Client Search instead. That tool covers people in custody, in the community, discharged, or under an active bench warrant. Keep it separate from the county jail roster. Federal or immigration custody runs through its own locator entirely.

Idaho law contains no statute that flatly requires or bans ordinary booking-photo publication. What governs access instead is a mix of public-records rules, criminal-history limits, sealing or expungement procedures, agency policy, and record-specific exemptions. Juvenile matters never appear on the ACSO roster. Victim, witness, open-investigation, fair-trial, and confidential material may be withheld or redacted. For older records, ask the agency that keeps them rather than expecting them to stay online.
